I hope you all partied hard last night and had an amazing Christmas last week!!
2 weeks ago today I got a new companion, sister christensen! She got her visa so they sent her from provo and she is the best.
So the 23rd was Joseph Smith´s birthday and the CTM partied hard! He turned 203 i think. He was an amazing man on God and i am so grateful for everything he did so i could have the gospel in my life!
Christmas in the CTM was unforgettable! We had donuts for breakfast, rice and beans for lunch, then hotdogs for dinner. honestly the hotdog dinner was a legendary christmas dinner cuz it was really gross haha. We played volleyball a lot on christmas, and not gunna lie im getting pretty awesome at it because i play it almost every day. i also beat all the elders at elimination/lightning so thats cool. anyway, on christmas we had a devotional that was braodcast live from provo by elder bednar. it was a life changer!! he talked about revelation. 2 of the thingsg he said that i liked were 1) dont tell heaven what to do, pray to know how you can be a part of what heaven has planned. 2) if you think a lot has changed 2018, buckle up! wait till 2019, then 2020. then he emphasized that all these changes have been in the works for a lot of years. its not president nelson making all these changes out of nowhere, god has just told him that it is time to put those plans into action. Im so excited to see what happens!!
On christmas night i got to call home, and they let my call back after my 30 minutes were up so i could say hi to nate and mike real quick. it was so good to hear their voices!! That was the highlight of my day. Then we had an icecream party.
On Saturday I went Prosilyting!! I loved it so much!! I cant speak portuguese and a bunch of people rejected me but it was so cool! The first lady i felt impressed to talk to ended up giving me her contact info. she made sure i understood that she really wanted us to call her so she could learn more. she was confused about why a weirdo american who doesnt speak portuguese was trying to talk to her in portuguesse about her family and jesus. she was so sweet, i hope the missionaries get to talk to her and it all works out!! She was the only contact i got cuz everyone else rejected me, and it was awesome :)
Last night i woke up at midnight and watched the fireworks with sister belnap, they were insane!! Brazil knows how to party hard!
I love it here at the CTM!! I love my district, and I love all of you!! Have a beautiful day!

A note from mom---Emmy can speak some Portuguese- she bore her testimony in Portuguese to us on Christmas Day. It was beautiful!
