Chat With Sister Richins
Planalto pt. 2
Transfers came today and guess who's staying here in Planalto with Sister Meyer! ME! Im super excited to continue the work of the Lord here with minha filha :)
Lots of things happened this week!! Its been awesome. On Wednesday we had splits and I got to stay with Sister Silva who will go home tomorrow. I learned a lot from her and I´m sad that her mission is already ending, she did a lot of amazing things here in the Brazil Goiânia Mission! We also bought sushi and slept under the stars on Wednesday night so it was a party :)
There were so many miracle this week!! The biggest miracle was that we had 4 people come to church with us and all four of them loved it! Im excited to see them progress :)
Sunday was my companions birthday!!!! WOOHOOO we didn´t do anything too exciting but it was one great day to be a missionary. The members gave us lots of candy cuz we both turned 20 yesterday, what are the chances!? President and Sister Piros called to congratulate us and i just gotta say I love them both so much.
I know that God hears and answers our prayers. Don´t forget that!! He is waiting anxiously to bless you, you just have to talk to Him.
Have a great week everyone!!
BATISMO!!
So on Friday we had a baptism and it was ALTIVO!!!! wooohooo!! He is a little old man and is so happy to be a member of the church now and I love the little dude!! On sunday he bore his testimony after he got baptised and it was the cutest thing ever. sorry don´t have time but heres some pics. Don´t worry, Altivo isnt as menicing as he looks in the pics :)
I love this gospel!!! Have a great week, love you all :)
What´s Good?!
Hey guys I just wanna tell you about 2 quick things that happened this week that made me laugh but at the same time were super sad. The first thing is that we started talking to a guy about the church and he said he already knows about it so I asked him if he has already visited. He let out a huge sigh and said, `let me tell ya something about that church`. And I said, `Go for it`. He then told us that he refuses to step foot in the church because where the parking lot is now his house used to be. Yeah I didn´t really know what to do so I said, `uhhhhhhhhhh, BUT, we have meetings there every sunday at 9:30 in the morning and you are more than welcome to come and see for yourself.`. He said he won´t. Needless to say he didn´t want to recieve a visit from us another day. Poor thing, he´ll be in our prayers.
The other thing that happened is we had a member with us on Friday to visit some of our friends and after one of the lessons I asked him if there was anything that I could do differently to be a better missionary or to teach better. Without hesitation he said, `It would help if you spoke portuguese better so that people could understand you`. I said, `oh, alrighty then Ill keep working on it.` Ouch. But yeah we had a good laugh from that :P
The good news of the week is that we found a member who hasn´t been to church for over a year and he wants to come back! His name is Igor. He even asked us to teach his parents so that they can all go to church as a family. I am super excited for them!! We taught the restoration to his dad and sister yesterday and it was the highlight of my week, the spirit was so strong.
The other highlight of my week was General Conference. It was SO good. I know that Pres. Nelson is a prophet of God and that we are witnessing the Restoration of the fulness of the gospel in the last days. And I don´t know about you guys but I´m super excited for the future! I know that God lives and that the Curch of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ´s true church on the earth today.
"...as pertaining to Jesus Christ, I testify that he is the Son of the Living God and was crucified for the sins of the world. He is our Lord, our God, and our King. This I know of myself independent of any other person. I am one of his witnesses, and in a coming day I shall feel the nail marks in his hands and in his feet and shall wet his feet with my tears. But I shall not know any better then than I know now that he is God’s Almighty Son, that he is our Savior and Redeemer, and that salvation comes in and through his atoning blood and in no other way."
